Today marks my one year anniversary working at the Library Bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. I went to my favorite wine store in West Hollywood, Du Vin to buy this 15 year old Violet Grappa to celebrate. It had been on the shelves since December and today was the day that I was going to purchase it to make my Hemingway's Shadow cocktail. Somebody beat me to it on Friday and I had to recover. So, I managed to find a black walnut liqueur that I can mix with my Vanilla infused bourbon and also a chamomile grappa to play with. Also, I will be infusing prosciutto in bourbon again to make my Ham on Rye cocktail. Ham on Rye would actually go really well with the black walnut liqueur. I am going to keep the infusion on the proscuitto at 7 days this time. Off to make my ginger syrup and grenadine.
