Wednesdays are my favorite days. It is the day that I tell everybody to come to my bar because I have spent the morning buying the freshest herbs and fruits from the Farmers Market in Santa Monica. I lay all the herbs out in a line and I play a game called, "Name that Herb". If you can name all of them without smelling them, you win a free drink! Today I have some wonderful flowering basil to garnish my 17 step Blood Mary. I have some incredible Lemon Verbana that I mix with yellow rasberries, lemon juice, agave and Hendricks gin and garnish with beautiful red currants. The red against the yellow is absolutely stunning! I have some amazing strawberries that are is season for about three more weeks. I pull out my 25 year old Balsalmic. Three different colors of cherry tomatoes. White peaches for the basil mojitos and I just finished making my homemade lavender honey for my Lavender Lust martini. Tonight is also Belvedere night. There is a DJ in my bar from 7-10pm and I created a menu for them that includes the Lavender Lust, a red bell pepper martini and many more. All are invited.....Hope to see you there
